The Whale Engine is a multifunctional engine, successor to the LGM Games’ proprietary engine developed in-house, with the purpose to serve our PC video game Starpoint Gemini. Numerous modules that Whale Engine is comprised of were created by our development team following detailed research.

Whale 3 Engine is based on DirectX 11 technology, and currently supports various extensions, in likes of support for VR technology, and other solutions.

The development of the Whale 3 engine was recognized by the Croatian Ministry of science, for which Intercorona d.o.o. has received government subsidies for research and development of the base engine modules as well as the various engine tools.

The next iteration of Whale Engine, Whale Engine X is a new LGM Games’ in-house project, created with the aim to power next titles that are currently in the development.

Whale Engine X offers new, advanced features, in likes of asynchronous script system, full multi-threaded implementation, full physics-based rendering system, new post-processing engine, and more.

VR technology research and implementation

LGM Games has been involved in research in the segment of virtual reality. We’re focused on implementation of existing VR devices.

The ultimate goal is to fully integrate VR devices into Whale engine and enable users a unique experience of virtual reality.

Development is not focused solely on Oculus Rift, but on other VR devices too, like Intel RealSense, Motion Leap and other devices.
